THE FIRST Nebraska Memorial Forest dedication in the state happened Friday Oct 18 at Horning State Farm Demonstration Forest south of Plattsmouth/ The memorial forests are being planted in groves of 50 or so trees across the state. The goal is to plant a tree for every Nebraska fallen military and first responder. That will entail planting about 7,500 trees statewide. To date, 1,158 NMF trees have been planted with over 850 more to be planted yet this year.
