ANOTHER "POOCH COMMAND" — The Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department was called to a residence on South 9th Street Friday evening (10/14). The help was needed to get these two dogs off the roof. The dogs' owner was not at home at the time. The fire department said it was determined the dogs had broken out the upstairs window and crawled out on the roof, got scared and wouldn't go back inside. Crews laddered the roof and then used a salvage tarp to make a slide for the dogs to get back on the ground. You’ll recall it was PVFD covering for the Louisville department (during its annual banquet) that was on scene to rescue a Great Dane from a tree in April, a story that was shared internationally.(photo from PVFD)
